Valve's Steam Controller (2nd generation) is now available in the Philippines through DataBlitz, priced at ₱13,995. The controller launched globally on May 4, 2026 at a US retail price of $99 — the local price works out to roughly triple that at current exchange rates, a gap local retailers attribute to import and logistics costs.
What's Inside
The controller retains the dual-trackpad layout the original Steam Controller was known for, while adding more conventional analog thumbsticks and a cleaner ergonomic form. Key specs:
- Two 34.5mm trackpads with haptic feedback and pressure-sensitive click controls
- Magnetic TMR (tunneling magnetoresistance) thumbsticks with capacitive touch detection
- A 6-axis gyro sensor for motion-based controls
- Four assignable rear grip buttons
- Four independent haptic motors — separate units for each trackpad and grip area
Wireless connectivity uses a dedicated 2.4GHz Steam Controller Puck included in the box, which also functions as a magnetic charging dock. Bluetooth and wired USB-C modes are also available. Battery life exceeds 35 hours per charge.
